Can I get Freeview on all the TVs in my house?
Yes you can get Freeview on all the TVs in your house.
You can run several signal cables from a single UHF aerial or a single satellite dish by connecting a splitter to your main antenna cable. All the TVs, set top boxes connected to that single antenna must be compatible with that antenna. So for example, if you’re using a UHF aerial, you need a TV, set top box or recorder compatible with UHF connected to it.
If you can get UHF coverage (check here), you'll need:
- A rooftop UHF aerial to pick up signal;
- A splitter to split the signal cable into the various rooms / TVs;
- For each room, a Freeview TV, box or recorder for UHF.
If you don't have UHF coverage, you'll need:
- A satellite dish to pick up signal;
- A splitter to split the signal cable into the various rooms / TVs;
- For each room, either a dual tuner TV, or a Freeview box or recorder for satellite connected to a standard TV.
If you’d like some help setting this up, an installer can offer advice on all your available options and provide a quote. Alternatively, head to www.freeviewforum.co.nz for some advice from the tech-savvy viewer community!
