The type of antenna you need will depend on the signal coverage you have at your place.

So start with a coverage check to see what type of antenna is suitable for you - be it a UHF aerial, or a satellite dish.

It's important to know this as most devices are only compatible with one type of TV antenna.

Here's how to check......

If you live in a house or a unit, just pop outside and take a look at your roof and see if there is an antenna up there. If there is, see which one of these it resembles.

If you are in a shared building like an apartment block it's best to check with your building manager.

Got an antenna like one of those above? Awesome!

You should be able to get Freeview through it if it's in good nick.

Got both types of antenna?

You're in for a spot of sleuthing. Follow the cables from the aerial and the satellite dish to see which one goes into the room where your TV is.

If you don't have an antenna don't worry... just do a coverage check so you know which type of antenna is most suitable, and put one in (or contact an installer to do it for you).
